Cheryl’s love for animals started at a young age while growing up on a farm near Fairfield, Iowa. In addition to the usual farm cats and dog, Cheryl an active 4-H member, raising pigs for many years, and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian when she grew up.
A resident of the Iowa City area since 1992, she earned her marketing degree from the University of Iowa, and spent nearly 20 years with University of Iowa Health Care as the director of marketing for UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, where she developed a passion for helping those in need. She currently is an account director with LionShare Inc. (based in Kansas City), working with health care systems across the county. Cheryl resides in North Liberty with her husband, Eric, and children, Drew and Katie. Her family also includes two animals they rescued,, their dog, Lola, and cat, Lucy. Cheryl’s life-long love of animals drew her to join the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation where she hopes to make a difference in the live of animals in our community.
