The Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center is the “cause” the Friends of the Animal Center supports. The homeless animals cared for at the Center will always be the main motivation behind FACF.

Thousands of animals cycle through the Animal Center each year.  Some are lost pets, others are owner relinquished animals, "confiscated" pets that have been neglected or abused, or stray animals who have been struggling to live on their own. The Center sees to it that these animals are in good health and makes every effort to find a companion home for each and every one of them. $5 pays for upper respiratory treatment for 2 cats for 21 days.

$25 pays for 30 days of flea treatment for 25 cats.

$50 pays for an eye or ear surgery for one dog or cat.

$200 will pay to cure one large dog of heartworm.
